Motoring Munchkins

"Zoom, zoom, zoom, we're going to the moon."

From left: Ariel, Nicole, and Isabelle

Isabelle and I went to Motoring Munchkins today at the Arenex. It's mostly for older kids so they can run around but it's free for kids under a year old so we thought we would check it out. Isabelle had lots of fun there. We even met up with some of her friends: Ariel, Nicole, Daniel, and Olivia.

Out At Queen's Park

Isabelle and I went out to Queen's Park this afternoon after Mother Goose. We met up with Ben, Ariel, and Charlotte. They all had fun taking turns in the swing. Afterwards, we went for a stroll through the park and enjoyed the sunshine. We took full advantage of the nice day.

Ben looking a little tired.

Ariel and Isabelle enjoying the swing.

Isabelle trying on Ben's sunglasses. They're the kind that stays strapped to your head.

Clapping At Mother Goose

Isabelle decided that she was going to learn how to clap today at Mother Goose. She's been putting her hands together for a while now but today she was actually clapping along to the songs when everyone else was clapping. Yay, Isabelle!! Thanks to Ben's Mom for the great picture.

An Outing To White Rock

"Where are we going?"

We all went out to White Rock today to enjoy the nice weather we're having. It was pretty chilly and very windy down by the water but it was still a lot of fun. Isabelle was pretty tired on the trip out there because it was cutting into her nap time but she was super excited once we got there.

Daddy and Momomunchkin

Isabelle was all smiles during the walk. She even fell asleep with all that fresh air.

32 Weeks!

"What's that you say? Almost 21 lbs??"

We went to the Public Health office to weigh and measure Isabelle today and she weighed in at 20 lbs 15 oz!! She is one big baby. We measured her length and head size and she is 73 cm long and her head size is 46 cm, so she should be in the 95th percentile still for all 3 things. She definitely takes after her Daddy. :o)

"Perhaps I should cut back on the all-night buffets!"

Play Date At Charlotte's

Charlotte and Nicole

Isabelle and I were invited over to Charlotte's place for a play date today. Isabelle had lots of fun there playing with all the different toys and all of her friends. Thanks for having us over!!!

All Ready For Water Babies

Isabelle and I took a quick trip to the mall yesterday. I wasn't expecting to find anything in particular but when we went to check out The Bay, we found a great bargain on some swimwear. There wasn't much of a selection in styles and colours but for 50% off the ticket price, who could really complain. At least with this little outfit, I won't lose her in the pool. :o)

I had been waffling around the idea of putting her in Water Babies because I wasn't sure if she would really enjoy it. I made up my mind when I saw the drastic change in her bath time behaviour a few days ago. Let's just say by the end of the bath, I'm soaked. So, I registered her in the first part of Water Babies yesterday and she starts in a couple of weeks. How exciting!! Now I have to go see about my bathing suit...

New Facial Expression

This is her new facial expression that she is hooked on, sticking her tongue out a little bit between her lips. The other one is of her pursing her lips together and making short, excited "Mmmmm" sounds over and over again.

Where's The Momo?

I have a picture of Isabelle as my desktop image and for the past week, I've been pointing to the picture and repeating the question, "Where's the Momo? There she is." Now everytime I say it, she'll look over at the computer from wherever she may be sitting. She loves the mirror and now she's into pictures of herself...I wonder if she's a bit of a narcissist. :o)

Beautiful Day

We all went out to enjoy the sunshine today but it was chilly with a pretty strong wind so Isabelle had to wear her hat. We walked down by the river and walked around the New Westminster Quay.

E.T. Phone Home

Don't ask me what she's doing but I'm guessing she's just exploring her hands still and trying to fine tune her hand-eye coordination. If I say "E.T Phone Home" and make a similar hand gesture, she imitates. What a funny little Momomunchkin.

Hmmm...What's In Here?

Isabelle was trying to pull herself up to get some toys from her toy basket. I don't think she's trying to stand but she was making an honest effort to get something. In the end, all she managed to pull out was the little rabbit rattle. Better fishing next time!!

Finley's 1st Birthday

The Birthday Boy

Clockwise from Isabelle: Kai, Sarah with her Mommy, Finley, Cassie-Anne's
Mommy holding Thomas, Cassie-Anne, and Charlotte.

Finley celebrated his first birthday today. We even had party hats!! We all thought it would be cute to try and take a photo of all of them in the hats but as you can see in the picture below, Finley was the only one that thought it was funny. Thanks so much for having us over, we had a lot of fun. Happy Birthday Finley!

Visiting Kai

Isabelle and I went over to Kai's house today for a visit and then we went out for a late lunch. I hadn't been out of the house for a long time because of my cold and the work I've been doing from home. It was nice to finally get out of the house, I was starting to feel a bit like a troll. Thanks for the little visit...it was great. :o)

Baby Bum

"What are we going to do today?"

"Ok, sounds good to me."

I Have Teeth!!

Isabelle officially has teeth now. The other bottom central incisor has cut through and she's busy brushing her teeth.

Good Morning Mommy!!

Hooked On Baby Einstein

"Get out of my way, Daddy!!"

Isabelle and I have had a pretty nasty cold for about a week now. Nasal congestion, runny nose, and I have a persistent cough. We've been pretty cooped up inside so we've been making the most of it. Isabelle loves to watch her daily fix of Baby Einstein. She gets so focused when it's playing on the t.v. and if you stand in her way, she tries really hard to look around you. It's funny to watch her be so serious about something.

Like Father, Like Daughter

The picture on the right is a picture of Isabelle's Daddy when he was 6 years old. Now I can totally see the resemblance that everyone has been talking about.

Hip Hoppin' Momo

Daddy put a little hip hop music on today and we soon realized that Isabelle likes some pretty upbeat music. She loves this one song by Sean Paul called Temperature. Everytime it comes on, she gets all happy and likes jumping around. It's pretty funny to watch.

Only Soft Toys For You!!

I've discovered that Isabelle should only be given soft toys from now on...well, at least until she gets over the whole teething thing. I noticed the other day when I picked up one of her hard plastic blocks that there were scratch marks all over them. I even found one that had a pretty big gouge missing. With her one tooth, she's been chomping away at her toys. We don't want her to wear down her one tooth before it fully comes through and I also don't want her ingesting little plastic shavings.

"I can still have fun with a cloth Mommy."

The Dreaded Raspberries

I have been trying very hard not to promote blowing raspberries to Isabelle but she has gone ahead and mastered it anyway. She's been doing it a little on and off since she started eating solids (just over a month), but today she decided that it was going to be the only thing she wanted to "say." Here she is about 10 minutes before going to sleep and she just wouldn't stop. I have to admit, it's pretty funny.

Play Date At Holly's

We went over to Holly's place this afternoon after Mother Goose in the morning. It was a busy day for Isabelle. Normally I would post photos of the play date but I forgot my camera...again!! I think Isabelle was so worn out from being out that she became extremely cranky while we were there, so there wasn't really time for me to take any pictures anyway. Just wanted to say we had fun there and thank you to Holly and her Mommy for hosting. See you all again soon!
