Sapperton Days
Today we went to Sapperton Days with Kai and his Mommy and Daddy. The street festival was pretty small but we had a chance to enjoy a show put on by The Flowriders (moutain bikers doing crazy stunts!). We all really enjoyed it. After we walked around a bit, we walked over to Sapperton park and had fun on the slide, swing, and teeter-totter. The weather managed to stay pretty nice for the day, I even had to break open the sunscreen for Isabelle.
Kai and Isabelle not too sure what to make of the grass.

One Happy Momomunchkin!
Isabelle has been so happy these days motoring around the house. She finally learned how to sit herself down from the standing position while we were in Nanaimo, so she doesn't get "stuck" standing somewhere and start crying. Although we don't have any stairs in our place, we discovered in Nanaimo that she is able to climb stairs!! Other things she's recently learned is how to sign All finished to me when I say it and do actions to some of the songs that we sing regularly. One is a Japanese rhyme and the other is Itsy Bitsy Spider. It's really quite fun to watch. There are no distinctive words yet but she has really started to babble constantly these days. The funniest thing is when she "talks" when she is crying and angry, it actually sounds like she's complaining.
Another thing that makes me so happy is her new sleeping habits. She has been having two solid naps during the day and then sleeps through most of the night, only waking at around 4 am to come and sleep with us until it's time for her to get up. I'm finally getting a break from all those sleepless nights in the last 10 months. Way to go Momomunchkin!!

Momo-chan And Kai-kun's Adventure
Isabelle and I went over to Nanaimo with Kai and his Mommy for a few days to visit Baachin (Jiichan was at work so we missed him again!). Isabelle and Kai had so much fun playing with each other everyday for the past few days and it was really neat to see them interact. We need to work on Isabelle's food sharing skills though as I often found her snatching Kai's snacks away and devouring them herself.
During our visit, we went to Coombs to do a little shopping one day and then took a trip to Victoria the following day to visit Auntie Mako and walk along the inner harbour. We also just relaxed and enjoyed the time away from the big city. Isabelle and Kai really had such a great adventure together and I'm sure they can't wait to have another adventure soon! (Thanks to Kai's Mommy for the great pictures).
Sitting on the lawn at the Empress Hotel in Victoria.
Isabelle fast asleep on the ferry ride back home (Kai was also fast asleep in his stroller).

Visit From Auntie Hiroko
Auntie Hiroko came to visit us this weekend. She also brought back my bike that she borrowed while I was pregnant with Isabelle. Perfect time for the great weather we're supposed to be having. Auntie Hiroko hadn't been over in a while so Isabelle was a little scared of her at first but she warmed up really quickly when she realized that she was family. Thanks for coming over and see you soon!

Bust A Move
Isabelle has always been really into music but over the past month, she's really started to groove along with the tunes. A couple of days ago, she started dancing on command. I'd just give her a beat or sing a song and she'd dance on the spot. It's quite funny to watch. In this video, she's dancing to some music from the computer. (Sorry the image is so dark).

Let Me IN!!!!!!
We've put up a couple of baby gates around the house to keep her out of the danger zones (especially the kitchen when I'm cooking) but when she is cranky, she pulls herself up to the gate and cries for one of us to come pick her up. I've caught her a few times with a toy in one hand and standing there banging it on the gate. Reminds me of a poor little person locked in prison running her cup along the bars. Hahahahaha!!
Lazy Or Fun?
Isabelle has started to push things that slide easily along the carpet when she is crawling. It's quite humourous to watch as she doesn't need to lift her hands up to get anywhere. She doesn't do it all the time but occasionally, I will catch her doing it all over the house. I have to wonder, is she having fun or has she figured out a way to expend less energy??
