Charlotte's New House

Isabelle and I went to visit Charlotte and her Mommy today. They just recently moved into a bigger place so we wanted to go take a look at their new house. Isabelle and Charlotte are only 3 days apart in age so they are both developmentally very similar. They had a lot of fun playing with each other and getting into a little mischief. Thanks for having us over!

Naked Baby On The Loose

Every night when we get Isabelle ready for her bath, she takes off down the hallway towards the bathroom as soon as she's undressed. If we start going after her, she increases her speed and starts falling over in laughter. She can sure be silly sometimes!

Hyack Festival Parade 2006

Despite the little rain we were having today, we all walked up to see the Hyack Festival Parade this morning. This was Isabelle's first parade she's seen and she seemed to enjoy watching all the different things go by. She was so brave that she hardly flinched when the last pirate float blew their cannon. It was so loud, it made me jump!

"Oh, there's something coming!"

"Hey, a cool float!"

"Look! Auntie Mako's old highschool had a marching band!"

Saturday Morning

"I can almost fit my whole face in the glass."

Isabelle does this funny expression when she thinks something is cool or exciting. She was having lots of fun with my water glass this morning and Andrew and I managed to capture her expression at the right time. I think she really looks like her cousin, Theo, in the picture below.

Her new expression.

Fun At Motoring Munchkins

Isabelle and I met up with some of our other Mommy friends and babies at Motoring Munchkins. As usual, Isabelle had a lot of fun playing on the swing and trampoline. We even had a little cart ride together. Too bad MM will be closed for the summer months but we'll be sure to go when it starts up again in the fall. Also, we'll have to pay to get in since Isabelle will be over a year old. (Thanks to Wigglebean's Mommy for the picture of us).

Two Peas In A Pod

"Quit taking pictures Mommy and give me a hand up please!"

Kai-chan and Tai-chan came over for a little visit this afternoon. They had lot of fun crawling all over the place and getting into things they weren't supposed to. Kai-chan and Momo-chan watched a little Baby Einstein while Tai-chan was having a little snooze. Thanks for coming over to visit us, see you again soon!

"Ahhhh...that's better!"

Play N' Taste Activity Table

Isabelle and I were invited over to Wigglebean's place for a little playdate today. Isabelle had a lot of fun playing with all the cool toys. Thanks so much for having us over! (Photos courtesy of Wigglebean's Mommy).

Drinking From A Straw

Wigglebean's Mommy pointed out the other day that Miss S was very happy drinking from a straw rather than a sippy cup so I decided that I should give it a try with Isabelle. I had bought this Gerber cup with a straw when Isabelle was about 6 months old but kept it in the package thinking that she would probably chew the end of the straw to pieces before she even learned how to drink from it. At first, she did chew on the end and was unsure what to do with it so I unscrewed the lid and let her have a little juice (for incentive) like I was using a medicine dropper. She started sucking through the straw when I was doing that, so I quickly screwed the lid back on and...voila...she figured out how to drink from a straw. It was in a matter of minutes...I should've brought the thing out sooner since she doesn't have to tip this cup to get anything out.

Holly's 1st Birthday

The Birthday Girl eating her cake.

Today we went to Holly's 1st birthday party. She had a Finding Nemo birthday cake that was very tasty! We had so much fun there and we want to thank you so much for having us over. Hope you had a very happy birthday, Holly!

Salt Spring Island - Part One

Isabelle loving the time with Grandma.

We took a trip over to Salt Spring Island for a few days to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa. We all had lots of fun over there, especially Isabelle. She went and explored all parts of the property and tried to get into everything. We don't get to see them as often so I'm sure Isabelle enjoyed the time she had with Grandma and Grandpa. If it wasn't for the outrageously expensive ferry we have to travel on to visit, we would see them more often. Hope we'll see you again really soon.

Isabelle and Daddy being silly with hats. I think they're trying to disguise themselves as country folk with those hats.

Just sitting out on the grass enjoying the morning shade.

Princess Momoko

Isabelle wearing a daisy chain crown that I made at the park while she was exploring the grass.

Isabelle, Daddy, and I went out for a little stroll today to enjoy the beautiful weather. On the way home, we stopped at Moody Park to let Isabelle sit in the grass. We forgot our camera so we couldn't take any pictures of Isabelle having some issues with the grass. She'd never sat on grass before so she was really unsure of what to make of it. She would carefully touch it but quickly pull away and when we put her on her hands and knees, she just whined and complained as she crawled toward us. Silly Momomunchkin!

Feeling Better

After a big nap in the car, Isabelle was feeling a little bit better. She was actually crawling around in the evening before her bedtime. Her fever is still lingering but she had more energy and was actually having a little fun. Thank goodness for that!

"I'm coming to get you!!"

No Energy To Play

"I'm not feeling too good today."

Isabelle's little cold took a little turn for the worse last night. She started out with a fever in the middle of the night and when she woke up this morning, she had absolutely no energy and was quite sick. She wouldn't even crawl around but just wanted to sit in one spot and play with her toys. She was very lethargic and only had enough energy to watch a little Baby Einstein while lying on me or Daddy. We ended up taking her to the doctor to make sure she was okay and then she had a 2-hour nap in the car afterwards. There is nothing that we can really do except make sure she gets lots of rest so she can recover. Poor little Momomunchkin...it's so sad to see her sick.

On a side note, we missed Ben's 1st birthday today. Happy Birthday Ben!! Hope you had a wonderful time at your party.

Grandpa And Grandma Stop For A Visit

Isabelle showing Grandpa one of her favourite books.

Grandpa and Grandma stopped by for a quick visit today. They were on the mainland to do a little shopping. They could only visit for a short while because they had to catch the ferry back to SSI. We'll be seeing them next week though. Thanks for dropping by!

"Hi Mommy, I'll meet you in here for my bath, ok?"

On The Move

Isabelle is crawling around quite well now. She is getting faster every day and it's a lot of fun watching her explore all the different places that she couldn't get to before.

More Teeth

Isabelle is getting more teeth now. She's had the bottom two central incisors since she was 6-1/2 months old but now I'm starting to see the bottom lateral incisors coming through. She's been drooling a little more lately, as you can see from the shirt in the picture. She's had a bit of a runny nose for the past little while that just won't go away, so I'm sure the drooling is a bit excessive since she occasionally has to breathe through her mouth.

Last Day Of Water Babies I

Isabelle in the deep end with Daddy floating with a PFD. She loved it!

Enjoying the warm pool with Daddy and a ball.

Today was the last day of Water Babies I for Isabelle. She has come a long way from just 5 weeks ago when we started. She really didn't like the water before but now she's like a pro and she barely sputters when you dunk her in the water. She also doesn't cry either and instead has a lot of fun, especially in the warm pool with all the toys. We're planning on registering for the next session after the next rotation. Congratulations Momomunchkin on completing your first official class!

The official certificate.

Cool Chick!

Why is it that when you put her actual sunglasses on her face, she rips them off in seconds but when you put my sunglasses on her, she doesn't mind keeping them on?? She actually found it funny to be wearing them...they're so big, it looks like she's wearing ski goggles!!
